Unlikely Passengers.

It was about 8.30pm last night and I was first in line at the Novena Taxi Stand. There were a few commuters waiting to board my cab. First in the queue was a young man with two lady friends and they were about to board my cab, opened the left rear door, started talking among themselves a bit, hesitated a moment, shut the door and without giving any apologies at all, they just simply walked away in the direction of the Shopping Mall's entrance. Meanwhile 3 other Taxis, lined up just behind me had passengers from the queue started boarding their cabs at the same time, they became hired and drove off, leaving me still first in the taxi queue, vacant and with no other potential passengers in sight. It was most unlucky for me because of the original threesome's last minute decision to walk away from my cab thus giving wrong signals to other commuters behind them thinking I'm already hired and they eventually boarded the other taxis. This sort of unfortunate actions by unintentional commuters caused me to wait a longer time for the next available passenger.

This is not the first time that I am placed in such an annoying situation. I have to accept the fact that these unfortunate actions are always unpredictable and I happen to be on the receiving end. Anyway, the rest of my working day was not too bad as I had my fair share of ferrying many eager passengers until my shift ended.
